A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court has stayed the summon proceedings against a few accused in the alleged Rs 705 crore cheating case against Mumbai International Airport Ltd (MIAL).

Amongst those accused in the case include MIAL and GVK group chairman GVK Reddy and his son Sanjay Reddy.

In January 2023, the special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court had remanded the case to magistrate court after it found that there was no case of corruption by public servants made out by the agency against GVK group executives and others for alleged fraud in the development of Mumbai airport.

Earlier, last year, the summoning order passed by trial court was set aside by the Special CBI Court in revision petitions preferred by accused persons on the ground that there was non-application of mind by the trial court and the said order did not contain any reasons. The revision court had remanded back the matter and directed the trial court to pass a fresh order according to law.
