CBI arrests 3 in BRO fund misappropriation case

New Delhi: CBI has arrested a Border Roads Organisation assistant engineer and two labour supply agents from Kargil in connection with alleged misappropriation of funds in Ladakh, the agency said in a press statement on Tuesday.

The assistant engineer was officer in-charge of Khaltse Batalik Sector under 81 RCC, BRO. The agency alleged that the assistant engineer conspired with the two labour supply agents to siphon off funds in the name of non-existent labourers. The amount was deposited in the assistant engineer's account, CBI alleged.
