Caught on camera: Three-story building collapses in Bengaluru

A 70-year old building rented out to ‘Namma Metro’ construction workers in Lakkasandra locality of Bengaluru collapsed on Monday, but no casualties were reported.

A 70-year old building rented out to ‘Namma Metro’ construction workers in Lakkasandra locality of Bengaluru collapsed on Monday, but no casualties were reported.

There were around 25-30 migrant workers living in the three-storey building, but nobody was inside when the building went down in a heap around 11:45 am.

Most of the workers were at their workplace when it happened, and the few remaining managed to rush out, TOI reported.


The collapse was caught on camera and the disturbing visuals were shared widely on social media.


Fire department officials present at the spot of the incident and timely evacuation took place before the collapse of the building.

Reports said the building was old and had developed cracks several days ago. The owner is being accused of negligence.
