CAT directs West Bengal to resubmit DGP panel names to UPSC
Kolkata: Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has instructed the West Bengal government to resubmit to UPSC names for empanelment to select a new director general of police by January 23.

UPSC has been asked to convene a meeting of the empanelment committee on or before January 28 and prepare the panel in accordance with the guidelines and send it to the state government on or before January 29.

West Bengal Police does not have any fulltime DGP. Acting DGP Rajeev Kumar is slated to retire on January 31.
