Kolkata: A division bench of the Calcutta High Court, on Thursday, gave permission to the Centre Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for fresh interrogation of the sole convict in the R.G. Kar rape & murder day, Sanjay Roy.

The Calcutta High Court division bench of Justice Rajasekhar Mantha and Justice Rai Chattopadhyay today observed that Roy, a former civic volunteer of Kolkata Police, the investigation officials of the CBI in the matter could conduct his fresh interrogation.

The division bench also observed that besides Roy, the CBI sleuths could interrogate any other suspect in the matter. The division observed that CBI can adopt all modern technology possible to unearth the truth behind the larger conspiracy behind the crime.


The next date of hearing in the matter had been fixed on May 12.
