Cabinet clears Rs 24,815 crore rail projects; UP, Andhra Pradesh to get 601 km network expansion
In a major push to modernise rail infrastructure, the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved two large multitracking projects of Indian Railways spanning Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. With a combined investment of ₹24,815 crore, the projects will expand the national rail network by around 601 km and are scheduled for completion by 2030–31
