George, who also serves as chairman and managing director of Geojit Financial Services, succeeds Dr Viju Jacob, chairman of the Synthite Group.
The newly elected governing council will focus on expanding trade, investment and institutional partnerships between Kerala and Japan, said the chamber in a press statement.
The other office-bearers include Alex K Ninan, partner at Baby Marine International Group, as vice president; Beby Mathew, CMD of Mathewsons Group, as secretary; Dr Jeevan of Samudra Shipyard as joint secretary; and CA Jacob Kovoor of Kovoor Consultants as treasurer. Jacob will serve as immediate past president, the statement added.
George has been associated with Geojit Financial Services for several years and has held leadership positions in the financial services industry. He succeeds Jacob, who served as INJACK president during the previous term.
T Balakrishnan IAS (Retd), Sajiv Menon and Madhu S Nair will serve as advisors.
Ahead of the 75th anniversary of India-Japan diplomatic relations in 2027, INJACK is rolling out several strategic initiatives to strengthen business ties between Kerala and Japan.
As an immediate step, a 20-member Japanese business delegation will visit Kochi on between November 4 and 5 this year, to explore trade and investment opportunities with enterprises in Kerala.
