Businessman shot dead by unidentified miscreants in Guwahati

In a sensational incident a businessman was shot dead by unidentified miscreants in Guwahati on Monday.

Ranjit Bora, resident of Kahilipara, Guwahati, was associated with West Assam Milk Producers Cooperative Union Limited (Purabi Dairy) as its distributor of milk and milk products for the last 12 years. He was one of the established distributors of Purabi Dairy, commanding a network of retailers in Kahilipara and Ganeshguri areas of Guwahati.

In a statement the dairy stated, “It was understood that as a part of his routine business activity, Bora went to deposit his sales proceeds in a Bank located in front of the premises of Purabi Dairy. It was learnt that he went to the Bank in his car at around 12 PM when unidentified assailants shot him while he was inside his car. Subsequently, the police came and took him to Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) where he was declared dead”
