A bomb threat call on a Dubai-bound IndiGo flight turned out to be a hoax. The flight, which was supposed to fly at 7:20 am, will now proceed towards its destination.

The police control room received an anonymous call after which the airport police was alerted.

The police conducted a thorough search of the aircraft following the call and found no explosives planted in the IndiGo aircraft.

The call has been traced to a man who was in an inebriated condition and wanted to prevent two of his family members from flying out of the city.

He was promptly picked up by the police.

Around 170 passengers and crew members of the flight were provided accommodation. An inquiry was on to trace the caller.
