Bomb disposal squad rushes to Delhi's Paschim Vihar after unattended bag found near Raddison Blu

An unattended bag was found near a hotel in Delhi's Paschim Vihar on Monday following which, a bomb disposal squad team was rushed to the spot, officials reported.

An unattended bag was found near a hotel in Delhi's Paschim Vihar on Monday following which, a bomb disposal squad team was rushed to the spot, officials reported.

The police arrived at the spot soon after receiving the information and called Bomb Detection Team (BDT), which after its probe said that nothing suspicious is found. Everything is normal, police said quoting the BDT.

"We received information about a suspicious bag in front of a five-star hotel in Paschim Vihar. The object appeared like a WiFi router or digital lock. The Bomb Detection Team is on the spot," the Delhi Police said.


A digital lock, which is used to lock containers, was found near the bag on the roadside, but there were no explosives inside, they added.

A call was received at 9.04 am about an unattended bag lying on the road near Radisson Blu Hotel in Pashchim Vihar, an officer said.

According to a senior police official, a digital lock has been recovered from the spot. "We have cordoned off the entire area. We are trying to know what exactly it is," he said.

The call has sent a panic wave as a lot of school students use this way to reach their respective schools.
