Bogtui violence in West Bengal: CID serves notice to CBI in Lalan Sheikh death case

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on Sunday served notice to the Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) seeking detailed information about Lalan Sheikh, the prime accused of the Bogtui case.

The CBI has sought CCTV footage of Lalan Shiekh on the day of his death and information about the investigating officers who were present on that day, sources said. Meanwhile, Lalan's wife Reshma Bibi filed a fresh complaint against CBI, claiming that many expensive goods are missing from her house which was sealed by the agency during the probe.

The CID has also quizzed Jahangir Sheikh, another main accused in Bogtui case, who is presently in prison. "Jahangir Sheikh was present at the CBI temporary camp office on the day of Lalan's death," sources said. The CID also met Reshma Bibi at her residence to find out details about the sequence of events that happened on the day of Lalan's death, who was reportedly taken to his village.
