‘BJP winning despite Rahul Gandhi’s lies, confusion and malicious propaganda,’ says Amit Shah after bypoll victories

In a post on X, Shah said the NDA's victories in the bypolls, and in the recent local body elections in Rajasthan and Tripura, show that people have "completely rejected" the INDIA bloc. He credited the wins to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Shah said parties that have lost their public base question institutions after every defeat, but the people have recognised this character. He said voters have once again expressed unwavering faith in the BJP by giving it a resounding mandate.
He congratulated West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha and Puducherry Chief Minister N Rangasamy. He also congratulated all state presidents and party workers.
In Assam's Nagaon Lok Sabha bypoll, BJP's Devasish Sharma beat AIUDF chief Badruddin Ajmal. Sharma had built an unassailable lead of 1,46,180 votes during counting, according to the Election Commission. The seat fell vacant after Pradyut Bordoloi left the Congress and joined the BJP.
In West Bengal, BJP's Hasi Rani Rath won the Nandigram Assembly bypoll, beating Congress's Milan Pradhan. BJP's Shankharavh Sarkar won Rejinagar, beating Golam Nabi Azad of the Aam Janata Unnayan Party.
In Puducherry, the ruling AINRC retained the Thattanchavady Assembly seat in the bypoll held on October 6. The seat had fallen vacant after Rangasamy vacated it following the April 9 Assembly elections in the Union Territory.

In Tamil Nadu, the ruling TVK won the Madurantakam and Dharapuram Assembly bypolls, defeating its DMK rivals. The results are seen as a boost for the government led by Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay.
BJP President Nitin Nabin called the victories "spectacular" in a post on X. He said they show people stand firmly with the politics of development and good governance under Modi, and that those who tried to mislead the country have been given a resounding response.
