New Delhi: BJP will celebrate Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 72nd birthday today as 'Sewa Divas', encouraging people to take a pledge to offer their services towards fighting tuberculosis, promoting Swachh Bharat, holding blood donation camps, adopting plans for water harvesting, engaging in environment protection activities and making India Atmanirbhar, among other acts.

Prime Minister Modi himself has a busy schedule on his birthday. He will visit the Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh where he will welcome the eight Cheetahs who arrive here from Namibia and will initially be kept in a quarantine enclosure. His engagements for the day include four speeches at events relating to wildlife, women's empowerment, skills and youth development, and next generation infrastructure.

His visit to the Kuno National Park will be followed by a programme where he will address the Women Self-Help Groups conference in MP, and students passing out from ITIs on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti. Around 4 million students are expected to join this programme.


In the evening, he will launch the National Logistics Policy at Vigyan Bhawan in the national capital.

BJP's celebrations will be held from September 17 to October 2. Party general secretary Arun Singh said the celebrations have been divided into three parts. The first is 'sewa' programmes.

The second part will involve 'swachhta', environment protection and other creative drives. The celebrations will also have programmes for 'garib kalyan' and welfare of Dalits, tribals and backwards. BJP is also organising a 'Offer your Seva to the Nation' campaign through the NaMo App. The party is launching a 'Gift of Seva' module on the app through which users will be able to choose and pick an area where they would like to lend a hand and take a pledge.

Home minister Amit Shah will be in Telangana where he will launch 'Hyderabad Liberation Day' celebrations and distribute equipment to persons with disabilities.
