Kottayam: BJP leader N Hari was appointed chairman of the Rubber Board by the central government on Monday, officials said.

The Department of Commerce under the Union Ministry of Commerce and Industry issued an order appointing Hari as Chairman of the Rubber Board, headquartered in Kottayam, for a three-year term.

Hari is the BJP's central zone president in Kerala.

A native of Pallikkathode in Kottayam district, he has been a member of the Rubber Board for the past two years.

Hari is a former BJP Kottayam district president and has contested Assembly elections twice.
