BJP leader Laishram Rameshwor Singh shot dead in Manipur

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Laishram Rameshwor Singh was shot dead by unidentified miscreants in Manipur’s Thoubal district.

Police have arrested one person in this connection. Sources in police said that early in the day around 10.20am two unknown persons shot at the Manipur BJP convenor of Ex-servicemen cell Rameshwor near his home at Kshetri Leikai area. He succumbed to his injuries.

The arrested person has been identified as Naorem Rickypointing alias Amu, 20. Police have also recovered one empty case of .32 pistol from the spot.


Manipur BJP tweeted, “Anguished to learn about the murder of L. Rameshwor Singh, State Convenor of Ex-Servicemen Cell. We strongly condemned this inhumane act. The perpetrators of this heinous crime must be brought to justice & punished accordingly. We have lost a dedicated karyakarta.”
