BJP cancels Modi's roadshow in Bhopal due to Indore tragedy

"Preparations were made for a grand welcome of PM Modi during his visit to Bhopal on Saturday. But after the tragic incident in Indore, the party has decided to cancel the road show and the welcome programme," VD Sharma, state BJP president, told ET.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Bhopal on Saturday to attend the Combined Commanders' Conference at Kushabhau Thakre Hall. After the programme, Modi will go to Rani Kamlapati Railway Station in the afternoon to flag off the Vande Bharat Express train between Bhopal and New Delhi. The BJP had planned a grand welcome for PM Modi during the roadshow from Kushabhau Thakre hall to the railway station. However, the party decided to cancel the programme.
