Bill Gates appreciates IAS Dr. M. S. Lakshmi Priya's involvement in National Health Mission of Assam

Bill Gates, Co-founder of Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation appreciated Dr. M S Lakshmi Priya, IAS, Mission Director National Health Mission Assam at the Empowerment Through Nourishment: Celebrating Women of New India, event organized by Ministry of Women & Child Development, Government of India at New Delhi.

Gates later also posted on Twitter in this regard, appreciating the initiatives by Assam taken to improve the nutrition outcomes. Present in the meeting were Zubin Smriti Irani, Union Cabinet Minister for Women & Child Development.

Dr. Priya also presented on the key insights of the interventions at the field level to promote nutrition, mother & child health, through Buddy Mother model under Project SAMPOORNA in Bongaigaon District which won the Prime Ministers Award for Excellence in Public Administration under ‘Innovation Category’ in 2021.


Dr. Priya also thanked Gates for the splendid and insightful interaction in the event.
