'Biggest U-Turn': Hardeep Singh Puri targets Punjab govt over VB-G RAM G roll out

The Punjab government has officially rolled out the Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Aajeevika Mission (Gramin) (VB-G RAM G) from July 1, months after rejecting the law in a special Assembly session. The move comes amid concerns that the state could lose ₹750–800 crore in Central funds if it stayed out of the scheme. Meanwhile, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan called the nationwide rollout a "historic day", saying the new framework guarantees 125 days of employment, replacing the 100-day guarantee under MGNREGA. The Centre has allocated over ₹95,600 crore for the scheme this financial year, while the Opposition has criticised the removal of Mahatma Gandhi's name and changes to the funding formula.
