Bharat Bandh today: Noida police warns of intensive checking on Delhi routes, imposes Section 144

The Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU), part of SKM, has called for a Bharat Bandh today. BKU leader Pawan Khatana said that during the Bharat Bandh called by his union, farmers have been asked to strike from their work for one day to press the government for demands.

In view of the bandh, the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police have imposed Section 144 in the district, banning unauthorized public assemblies. The police have also cautioned commuters going to Delhi and returning from the capital city about traffic diversions in Noida and urged citizens to use the metro rail service "as far as possible" to avoid inconvenience.

The order also prohibits the use of private drones within a one-kilometer radius of government establishments and bans the carrying of sticks, rods, tridents, swords, firearms, and similar items in public places.


The police have warned commuters that intensive checking will be conducted by installing barriers on all the borders of Noida and Delhi on both sides, resulting in increased pressure on vehicular movement and traffic diversions as required.

"People going to Delhi, please use the Metro as much as possible to avoid traffic inconvenience. The arrival of all types of goods vehicles will be restricted on the route from Yamuna Expressway to Delhi via Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and from Sirsa to Surajpur via Pari Chowk. To avoid traffic inconvenience, drivers can use alternative routes to reach their destination," the police said.
