Health experts advising the Karnataka government on Covid-19 related measures have not recommended any stringent curbs for Bengaluru yet, although the city has not seen a complete plateauing of cases as Delhi and Mumbai have.

The situation in Bengaluru is fluid, with the city reporting 350-450 cases a day, but it does not warrant strict curbs such as evening curfew and weekend lockdowns, said MK Sudarshan, who heads the technical advisory committee for Covid-19.On Sunday, the city reported 348 cases.

“We have to closely monitor the situation on new cases in different locations of the city, deaths and hospital admissions. While daily cases per se are not on the rise, cases have stopped declines in the last couple of weeks indicating that the second wave of Covid is not over yet,” Sudarshan told ET. With cities such as Delhi and Mumbai adding daily cases in two digits, Bengaluru is a cause of worry in the relative context, said experts.
