As the IT capital of India experiences flood like situation, the India Meteorological Department has predicted more rains to continue in the city on Friday, October 25.

"Generally cloudy sky with Light rain," said the weather agency in its forecast with minimum temperature to be around 21 Degree Celcius.

Bengaluru North experienced severe flooding after a heavy thunderstorm swept through the region on Tuesday night. Water has receded from most affected houses and roads, but stagnant water remains on some streets.


According to the BBMP, more than 1,000 homes in 28 residential areas in the Yelahanka zone were flooded on Monday night, with water remaining stagnant until Tuesday evening. Authorities pumped out water in several locations, while in others, it naturally drained away. Currently, water has receded everywhere except at Kendriya Vihar Apartments in Yelahanka.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted additional rain for Bengaluru over the next two days. The IMD predicts light to moderate rainfall in isolated areas throughout Karnataka for the rest of the week.

Building collapse in Bengaluru:

The collapse of the under-construction building on Tuesday at the Horamavu Agara area claimed eight lives.

The officials brought in heavy machinery to sort out the rubble and concrete from the site.

Additionally, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced Rs 2 lakh ex-gratia for the kin of the deceased, and Rs 50 thousand for the injured.

A post on X from the Prime Minister's Office, read, "Anguished by the loss of lives due to the collapse of a building in Bengaluru. My thoughts are with all those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that the injured recover soon. An ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakhs from PMNRF would be provided to the next of kin of each deceased. The injured would be given Rs. 50,000."
