Despite the traffic woes many netizens loved the recent rains for bringing relief from a decades high temperature. "Loving this weather after months of harsh summer," posted a netizen, sharing images of early morning rains.

The India Meteorological Department in its forecast for Bengaluru has said that weather today and over the next three days will be generally cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain or thundershowers. The temperature in the city would range between 23 degrees and 33 degrees, IMD added.
According to IMD, a cyclonic circulation is present over the Comorin area and the adjacent south Tamil Nadu coast, with a trough extending from this circulation to Lakshadweep in the lower troposphere. As a result there will likely be fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (40-50 km/h) over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, Lakshadweep, and south Karnataka. Isolated light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 km/h) is expected over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, and Rayalaseema over the next seven days.
Also, isolated heavy rainfall is expected over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, and South Interior Karnataka till 20th of May; over Coastal Karnataka from the 17th to the 19th and over Lakshadweep from the 19th to the 20th of May, 2024.
