Commuters in Bengaluru’s busy Shivajinagar area are in for a challenging month as significant traffic restrictions have been announced due to ongoing Metro construction work by the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL).

Starting from November 11, 2024, one side of the road between Shivaji Circle and Jyothi Cafe will be closed to all vehicular movement for the next 30 days.

This closure is expected to impact daily commuters and residents, as it affects a key route in the heart of the city. To ease congestion, the Bengaluru City Traffic Police has implemented alternative routes and is urging the public to plan their travel accordingly.

Restricted Roads:

  • Vehicles traveling from Balekundri to the Shivajinagar BMTC Bus Stand via Shivaji Circle are restricted.
  • Vehicles from Shivaji Road traveling towards Jyothi Cafe and Shivajinagar BMTC Bus Stand will also face restrictions.

Alternative Routes:

Vehicles, including buses, coming from Balekundri towards the Shivajinagar BMTC Bus Stand should take a left at the Traffic Head Quarter Junction, continue along Infantry Road, take a left at Central Street Junction, and then proceed to the BMTC Bus Stand.

For vehicles traveling from Shivaji Road towards the BMTC Bus Stand, the recommended route is to take a right at Shivaji Circle, proceed via Venkataswamy Naidu Road, take a left at Balekundri Junction, then a left at Traffic Head Quarter Junction, continue on Infantry Road, and finally take a left at Central Street Junction to reach the BMTC Bus Stand.
