“The mishap in Bengaluru is absolutely heartrending. In this tragic hour, my thoughts are with all those who have lost their loved ones. I pray that those who are injured have a speedy recovery,” Modi said in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
The stampede unfolded as hundreds of fans gathered in Bengaluru to greet the RCB players during a victory procession. Overwhelmed by the unexpectedly large crowd and inadequate arrangements, the celebration quickly turned chaotic.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene, with visuals showing police personnel helping injured spectators and ambulances navigating through panicked crowds.
