It began like any other Wednesday morning until a tweet by RCB announcing that the team would be returning to the city for a celebratory parade sent the friends into a tizzy.

Devi, a resident of Tamil Nadu and a die hard fan of ‘men in red’ couldn’t just miss this opportunity. She had studied in Bengaluru and was working for a tech firm at the time . When she saw the tweet the techie badgered her boss to give her the permission and at 2:30 she finally got it. “Her laptop is on the table and her bags are there, but she is not," her visibly distraught friend told TOI.

Her friend recalls that she was a big fan of Virat Kohli and a loyal RCB supporter and never missed a match. She had been very attached to the city since she moved to Bengaluru. When Devi heard that the team was distributing tickets for the celebrations in the stadium, she made up her mind to go and watch the celebrations, as reported by TOI.

No ticket was available online so Devi decided to go to the stadium and see if it was available at the venue. Her friend told TOI that her last message was, “I am taking the metro.”

The hospital used the emergency contact number on Devi’s phone to contact her friend. Her friend told TOI that they immediately reached the hospital, she doesn’t know how she will tell Devi’s parents about her demise.
