The 17th edition of the annual music festival, organised by the Bengaluru-based Bharatiya Samagana Sabha, is based on the theme, "Purana Gitam, according to a statement.
The festival will have two evening concerts every day. Karnatic vocalists Sivasri Skandaprasad (Feb 5), Sandeep Narayan (Feb 6), Harisankar (Feb 7) and Ranjani Gayatri (Feb 8) will perform in the second session.
The first session will have a vocal concert by Dhanya Dinesh Rudrapatnam (Feb 5), vocal duet by Archana-Samanvi (Feb 6), and classical ensemble by violinist Apoorva Krishna’s team.
The Sabha said it will honour violin maestros Ganesh and Kumaresh with the annual Samagana Mathanga award, and young Karnatic vocalist Spoorthi Rao with Samagana Vasantha award on February 7 evening.
The theme Purana Gitam draws inspiration from the sacred Puranas, which form a vital bridge between ancient Vedic philosophy and the living tradition of Bhakti. Through music, narrative, and devotion, the festival seeks to bring to life timeless stories of divinity, pilgrimage, and moral wisdom. Renowned artistes will present specially curated performances interpreting select Puranas, exploring themes of divine lore, sacred geography, and ethical values through classical music, the statement added.
