Kolkata: Two persons with suspected links with Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) have been reportedly arrested by the Bengal Special Task Force (STF) from West Bengal's Purba Bardhaman district, according to highly placed sources.

The duo were remanded to seven-day police custody after they were produced in court in Kolkata on Monday.
The two accused have been identified as Rakesh Kumar Gupta, a resident of South Kolkata's Bhawanipur, and Mukesh Rajak, a resident of Panagarh, people in the know said.


However, more details are awaited.

Acting on a tip-off, Bengal-STF officials conducted a raid on Saturday and arrested them.

While Mukesh was nabbed from his rented house, Rakesh, on the other hand, was picked up from a nursing home, where he was admitted for medical treatment, sources informed.

Both the suspected arrested persons were reportedly working for an NGO and had been living in a rented accommodation in Purba Bardhaman district's Memari, from where they were arrested, sources pointed out.
"The two suspected persons, who were arrested and have links to Pakistan's ISI, allegedly had touch with a few persons in the neighbouring country," people in the know said.
