West Bengal Chief Minister, Suvendu Adhikari has shared the order for giving the formal permission to the ED on his social media handle.
ED is conducting the probe related to the RG Kar financial irregularities case, the formal permission of the state government to prosecute and convict Sandip Ghosh is related to that case only.
In his social media statement, Adhikari claimed that on he felt fortunate to have taken a positive step as the Chief Minister by giving this formal permission to the ED.
“The previous Trinamool Congress government forcibly and immorally stalled the investigation process of this case for a long time. But we believe that no one is above the law. The truth cannot be suppressed. I want the real culprits of Sister Abhaya to be identified quickly, get the strictest punishment and the people of Bengal to witness justice. I pray for the eternal peace of Sister Abhaya's soul,” his statement read.
