Bangladeshi cattle smugglers killed near border in Cooch Behar

In a related incident in North 24 Parganas district's Swarupnagar, nine Bangladeshis were arrested by the BSF after they entered India with the help of local agents.

The Border Security Force has said that it killed two 'miscreants from Bangladesh who tried to smuggle out cattle' at Sitai in Coochbehar, at around 3 am on Friday morning. One BSF personnel was injured during the incident as the 'smugglers' attacked the BSF patrol party who tried to stop them from crossing into India.

"At 3 am, miscreants tried to smuggle cattle with the help of improvised bamboo cantilever and reportedly attacked BSF troops with iron rods and sticks. The BSF warned them, fired in the air in the direction of the miscreants. Later, bodies of two were found on the international border, according to an insider in the security establishment.
