Her earlier record
Baljeet climbed Mt. Annapurna I (8091-metre) on April 28 and Mt. Kanchenjunga (8586-metre) on May 12 - both of them relatively dangerous to climb. With that she became the first Indian woman to summit within two weeks, but she didn't rest on her laurels.

Humble background
Baljeet comes from a humble background in Himachal. Her father, Amrik Singh, is a bus driver with the Himachal Road Transport Corporation. The family lives in Panjrol village in Solan district. She is one among the three children.

Which is next?
Eight-thousanders have an exalted place in mountaineering. These are peaks towering above 8000 metres. That height is critical in climbing as it's the 'Death Zone', where oxygen levels are too low for normal functions. There are 14 of eight-thousanders in the world. Wonder which one she is eyeing next.
