Yoga guru Baba Ramdev's wax statue was recently unveiled by Madame Tussauds Museum in New York. The wax figure, carved in the Vrikshasana pose, was unveiled at an event in Delhi in the presence of Baba Ramdev himself. This recognition is not only an honor for Baba Ramdev but also a symbol of appreciation for yoga, ayurveda, and India's rich culture, Ramdev said.


Baba Ramdev expressed his gratitude, stating that it showcases the recognition of not just icons from Bollywood, Hollywood, and politics, but also spiritual leaders. During the event, Baba Ramdev performed a traditional ritual by applying a 'tika' on the forehead of his wax impression. His wax statue will be displayed at the museum in Times Square, Manhattan, joining the ranks of other distinguished Indian personalities.


"With world's top 200 icons, Madame Tussauds has given a saint this honour. I am very thankful and consider this honour as a pride moment for 'Sanatan' culture," yoga guru Ramdev said on his wax statue at ‘Madame Tussauds New York’ in Delhi.

As per reports, Ramdev provided his photographs and measurements to a 20-member team at the Madame Tussauds Wax Museum in London for the creation of his wax statue in 2018. He shared a series of images from the museum on his Twitter, showcasing poses such as the vrikshasan (standing on one leg), which mirrors the current stance of his wax figure.

According to the TOI report, the yogi, initially hesitant, but eventually embraced the idea with the hope that the statue could generate interest in yoga among international tourists.

Other notable Indians featured in the New York Museum with wax figures include Mahatma Gandhi, Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan, Kareena Kapoor, Salman Khan, and Katrina Kaif.
