Speaking to ET, Indo Islamic Cultural Foundation secretary and spokesperson Athar Hussain said that in keeping with the norms of the Foreign Contribution Regulation (Amendment) Act, 2020, donors would require to furnish a letter of intent, specifying details of the contribution. This would then be uploaded by the recipient on the MHA portal.
A Dubai-based Indian businessman who runs a human resources consultancy has expressed interest to build a hospital on a turnkey basis in the complex, Hussain said, adding that the trust does not want to rope in too many people for donations. “We will test the procedure this week by applying for approval for transfer of a thousand dirhams,” he said.
The building plan comprises a hospital and a community kitchen, apart from the mosque. It is yet to be cleared by the Ayodhya Development Authority though the plan was submitted in April.
