Amid the US tariff heat, Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM), the economic wing of RSS, has kickstarted a campaign to boycott foreign goods. It has also appealed that temptation to study abroad should be avoided.

Drawing inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi-led Quit India movement, SJM co-convener Ashwani Mahajan said: "We have launched a campaign against foreign companies and goods as the US and other countries are becoming more and more protectionist and blocking exports using tariff walls and non-tariff barriers."

SJM in a statement said its volunteers organised a protest across 700 districts for "swadeshi (indigenous) and swavlamban (self-reliance) campaign". On China, he said it has been India's largest trading partner, but ties have now become "one-sided and dangerous".
