According to Shah, 12.8 million tribal families have been provided water under the Har Ghar Nal scheme.
There are many attempts to create a divide between different castes and communities but resolving differences through dialogue is in favour of the nation and all of us, Union home minister Amit Shah said on Tuesday while inaugurating newly built storage houses at Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak, through video-conferencing.

Shah said students of the university should understand struggles do not help. It is also the responsibility of the university to save tribals from the elements who try to mislead and link them with their mainstream. "Struggle has never been the solution to any problem. Consultation and dialogue is the way to resolve issues," he said.

More than 21 per cent tribal population of the country resides in Madhya Pradesh. "Before and even after independence, we have many types of tribal laws. Tribal brothers have contributed a lot for freedom. Tribal community has a glorious history. The university should do special work for research on this subject," said Shah.

The home minister said the Centre's outlay in the tribal sub plan has increased four times to Rs 86,000 crore in eight years, from Rs 21,000 crore in 2013-14, which will benefit everyone. "PM Modi has brought the National Education Policy in the year of the Amrit Mahotsav, I am very happy that the university has started work for its implementation," he said.

According to Shah, 12.8 million tribal families have been provided water under the Har Ghar Nal scheme.
