Bhankrota Accident: At least 4 dead, 37 injured in fire after truck collides with other vehicles on Jaipur highway
A major accident on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway on Friday morning resulted in a massive fire leaving 11 people dead, 28 in hospital and several injured, as per PTI data.

The incident occurred when a truck carrying chemicals collided with several other vehicles near a petrol pump, leading to a fiery chain reaction. There are possibilities that some people could not get out of their vehicles and got burnt inside, the police said, as reported by PTI. They said that the situation will become clear once all the vehicles are thoroughly scanned.

According to preliminary reports, the truck involved in the collision was loaded with a hazardous chemical, which intensified the blaze.


Jaipur Fire Today:

"The fire has engulfed several trucks. The number of trucks involved in the incident is not clear. Some people with burn injuries have been rushed to hospitals in ambulances," Station House Officer (SHO) of Bhankrota, Manish Gupta, told PTI.


The accident happened in front of a petrol pump, adding to the risk of the situation. Firefighters rushed to the scene and are working to bring the fire under control, authorities said.

As per TV reports, nearly 40 vehicles were charred in the massive fire.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed his deep sorrow over the tragedy and shared an official statement.

"I am deeply saddened to hear the sad news of casualties of citizens in the gas tanker fire incident on Jaipur-Ajmer National Highway. As soon as the information about the incident was received, I went to SMS Hospital and directed the doctors to provide immediate necessary medical facilities and take proper care of the injured. Rescue work by the administration is continuing. The local administration and emergency services are working with full readiness. I pray to the Lord to grant the departed souls a place in his supreme abode, give the bereaved families strength to bear this immense loss, and provide speedy recovery to the injured," the Chief Minister said in a post on X.


Over 25 ambulances transported victims to a hospital following an accident on a busy highway. The incident affected nearly 300 meters of the roadway, causing significant traffic backups.

Police said that the fire engulfed some establishments along the highway but details of the actual losses are not yet clear. The extent of property damage remains unknown.
