Assocham appoints Kishore Alva as Karnataka State Council chairman for FY27

Bengaluru: Industry body Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) has appointed Kishore Alva as chairman of its Karnataka State Council for 2026–27.

Alva, a veteran industry executive with over three decades of experience, has worked across multinational corporations in the energy, infrastructure and international trade domains. He has held leadership roles at companies such as Cogentrix, CLP India, Unocal 76, and the US -India Business Council, contributing to business development and policy advocacy, an Assocham statement said.

Alva has also been active in industry bodies, having served as president of the Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce in 2018–19, where he drove industry engagement and policy dialogue. Alva is currently executive director and president (Karnataka) at the Adani Group, the statement added.


In his new role, Alva is expected to lead initiatives to boost industrial growth, improve ease of doing business and deepen industry–government collaboration in Karnataka. Key focus areas include investment promotion, MSME support, innovation and policy advocacy aligned with the state’s economic priorities.

Alva said his priority would be to build a resilient and future-ready industrial ecosystem by leveraging technology, sustainability and global partnerships, while working closely with stakeholders to position Karnataka as a leading investment and innovation hub.

Founded in 1920, Assocham is among India’s apex industry chambers, representing over 450,000 companies across sectors, including large corporates and MSMEs. The body plays a key role in policy advocacy and reform initiatives aimed at strengthening the Indian economy.
