Assam STF arrests another suspected SBN operative in Kamrup district
Guwahati: In continuation of the investigation into the STF case and acting on leads developed from earlier arrests and subsequent investigative findings, STF, Assam, apprehended another suspected operative linked to the Pakistan-based Shahzad Bhatti Network (SBN) from Gauripur under Changsari Police Station, Dist-Kamrup, in the early hours of Monday.

The apprehended person has been identified as Mrigen Saloi. Incriminating articles, including electronic devices and documents, were recovered and seized from his possession during the operation.

With this apprehension, the total number of arrests in connection with the SBN case has risen to five, following earlier arrests from Dhubri, Chirang, Barpeta and Hailakandi districts.


Mrigen Saloi, a permanent resident of Belsor, Dist-Nalbari, had been working with a private company in Changsari for approximately one year and was apprehended from a rented house in Gauripur, Changsari. During the investigation, he was found to have been in contact with several Pakistan-based individuals suspected to be associated with the SBN.

The operation forms part of STF, Assam’s sustained investigation and action against extremist and anti-national networks and their operatives.
