In a bizarre incident, a shopkeeper chased out a girl from his shop for wearing jeans instead of burqa.

The incident took place in Biswanath district of the state.

Sources said that the girl had gone to purchase earphones in mobile phone accessories store in Biswanath Chariali. The shopkeeper Nurul Amin denied her service and rebuked her. He shamed the girl for wearing jeans instead of a burqa. He then pushed her out of the shop.


Father of the victim said, "This type of people try to bring Taliban system in Assam and forcing girls to wear burqa and Hijab."

Biswanath SP Rajen Singh said, "We have arrested the main accused Nurul Amin, Suffiqul Islam and Rafiqul Islam were arrested and sent to jail. The family members filed an FIR at Biswanath Chariali police station and based on the complaint we have arrested them."
