Assam Rifles jawan killed, another injured in IED blasts in Manipur

An Assam Rifles jawan was killed and another injured when two improvised Explosive Devices (IED) were detonated in Thoubal district on Wednesday.

The incident took place in Lilong Usoipokpi Sangomsang in Thoubal district on Wednesday.
A police official who do not want to be named told ET, "the 16 battalion of Assam Rifles were patrolling while there was a blast."


On November 13 last year an Assam Rifles Colonel, his wife and son, and four jawans of the para-military force were gunned down in Churachandpur district bordering Myanmar.

Manipur is going to assembly polls in February- March this year.
