"There are anti-national groups which are jealous of how the North East is progressing with peace & prosperity under the BJP government. So that peace does not prevail in the Northeast region, they are deliberately distorting the speech of Hon'ble Assam Chief Minister, Shri @himantabiswa ji in the name of religion and caste. Everyone must extend support & cooperation in serving swift legal action against such vested interest groups," said the Manipur CM.

Sarma said that there is an attempt to distort his speech into a fake video.

In the distorted video, Sarma’s remarks on Congress’ stance on Udhaynidhi Stalin’s “Sanatana Dharma must be eradicated” comment have been edited to sound that the Assam CM is calling for the annihilation of Islam and Christianity.
