Assam Police to get spokesperson in every district, cops told not to speak to media

The Assam Director General of Police, GP Singh directed the Superintendent of Police (SPs) from all districts to refrain from speaking in front of the media and there will be a spokesperson in every district who will talk to the media.

The DGP told media persons, “This order is for all the districts. In Assam police headquarter we have IGP law and order who is spokesperson. I to refrain from talking to the media unless it is a press conference.”

He said, “We will have a structured way of doing this, in every district we will have a spokesperson who will talk to media”.


Singh further announced that police personnel who have not submitted their property documents by June 1, he or she should not be posted in any police stations. He directed the Police officials to submit their property documents immediately.
