Assam Police chief Gyanendra Pratap Singh appointed as CRPF Director General

Guwahati: Assam Police chief Gyanendra Pratap Singh has been appointed as CRPF director general.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved his appointment as CRPF DG till the date of his superannuation on November 30, 2027.

Singh is a 1991-batch Indian Police Service officer of the Assam-Meghalaya cadre. Singh was repatriated to his parent cadre at the request of the Assam government. Singh is also known as 'Gun Point Singh' for his tough approach against insurgents.
