Assam police arrests one person in connection with assault on doctor

Assam police arrested one person in connection with assault on a doctor by a mob in Hojai. The mob attacked the doctor after a covid positive patient died.

Assam chief minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, "such barbaric attacks on our frontline workers won't be tolerated by our administration. @gpsinghassam @assampolice Ensure that the culprits brought to justice". The video clip of a doctor being beaten up has gone viral on social media.

Assam's special DGP, G. P Singh tweeted, "Reference assault on Dr Seuj Kumar Senapati posted in Udali COVID CARE CENTRE, HOJAI, ASSAM - One of the miscreants has been arrested. Instructions have been given to SP @Hojai_Police to arrest all persons involved in assault. @assampolice @DGPAssamPolice.
