While Sekharjyoti Goswami is a member of Zubeen's band, Amritprabha Mahanta is a singer who was to perform in the North East India Festival at Singapore. Both of them were in the yacht with Zubeen Garg where the iconic singer died.
On September 30, the SIT probing the death of Zubeen Garg, arrested Shyamkanu Mahanta and Siddharth Sharma, the two main accused named in the FIRs over Zubeen Garg's death, in Delhi and they were brought to Guwahati on October 1.

The SIT has already been interrogating Sekharjyoti Goswami and Amritprabha Mahanta in the CID headquarters in Guwahati for last few days.
Following the request, the Ministry of Home Affairs have already sent a letter to the Singapore authorities seeking cooperation regarding the investigation over Zubeen's death.
