Sarma said that while six persons have been arrested earlier, nine others including Rafijul Ali (Bongaigaon), Forid Uddin Laskar (Hailakandi), Inamul Islam (Lakhimpur), Firuj Ahmed @ Papon (Lakhimpur), Shahil Shoman Sikdar @ Shahidul Islam (Barpeta), Rakibul Sultan (Barpeta), Nasim Akram (Hojai), Taslim Ahmed (Kamrup) and Abdur Rohim Mollah @ Bappy Hussain (South Salmara) have been arrested on Wednesday night.
Sarma posted this on his X handle on Thursday and stated that Assam Police remains uncompromising against those who glorify violence.
Following the Delhi blast, the Assam Chief Minister issued stern warning against those who glorify violence and said that police had identified 34 terror sympathisers across the state.
Sarma had earlier stated that many of these users reportedly deleted their posts and comments after learning about the arrests.
It may be mentioned here that many people across the state had reacted to the Delhi blasts with smiles, thumbs up, and comments supporting the attack.
Sarma had stated that the incident in New Delhi is very worrying for Assam. If such an incident happens here the scale will be much bigger because the presence of these people is much higher here.
