Guwahati: Assam police have arrested two terrorists from Bangladesh from Guwahati railway station.

A senior police officer who does not want to be named said that arrested people are identified as Bahar Mia and Rachel Mia. They had come here from Gujrat. They were on their way to Silchar.

The duo is suspected to be part of the Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT).

The arrested people are in the custody of the special branch.

Former Assam Director General of Police (DGP) Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta last year said that police busted 9 Ansarullah Bangla Team (ABT) modules and arrested 53 operatives of ABT and found their presence in Madrassa. “Not all Madrassas are doing but there is evidence of radicalisation, there is indeed a threat. Small Madrassa cannot exist and will have to merge with big ones for they are prone to threat of radicalisation".
