Assam man dressed up as Lord Shiva arrested after street play, released on bail

A man dressed up as Lord shiva enacted a street play against price rise was arrested by Assam police. He was later released.

He was arrested for hurting religious sentiments. Birinchi Bora dressed up as Lord Shiva protested price rise under the Narendra Modi government.

This act was criticised by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal. They filed complaint against Bora.


Following the complaint, Birinchi Bora was detained and taken to Nagaon Sadar Police Station.

Bora appealed to the public to come out to protest against the price rise.
