This collaboration aims to strengthen Industry–Academia linkages and provide engineering and technical students with direct exposure to real-world industrial environments through internships, live projects, industrial visits, and start-up mentorship. The initiative will also help align academic learning with the evolving needs of the industrial sector.
Laghu Udyog Bharati – Purvottar Prant represents over 850 industries across Assam and the Northeastern Region, covering sectors like Food Processing, Plastics, Rubber, Electrical & Electronics, Engineering, Renewable Energy, Pharmaceuticals, Printing & Packaging, Handloom & Handicrafts, Furniture, Waste Management, and Agro-based industries. This broad industrial network will enable students to benefit from practical learning opportunities close to their institutions, ensuring inclusion across all districts of Assam.
Partha Pratim Pathak, President of LUB – Purvottar Prant, said: “This MoU marks a new chapter for Assam’s youth. For the first time, technical education will be directly connected with industries spread across every corner of our state. Students will not only learn theories in classrooms but will now get hands-on exposure to how industries function, what technologies they use, and what skills are needed to thrive in today’s world. It is a step toward transforming education into employability and innovation into entrepreneurship — in the true spirit of Atmanirbhar Assam and Atmanirbhar Bharat.”
