Assam Health minister puts up Covid riders for shops and malls

Guwahati witnessed 164 new Covid cases on Friday, and the number of daily new cases in the city was still above 100. Assam reported 708 new cases on Friday.

Assam Health Minister Keshab Mahanta said that shops and malls will have to ensure owners and employees gets inoculated and display “vaccinated” documents.

The Assam government has decided to take up vaccination in Guwahati city in mission mode. Voter list and 1,204 polling booths will be used to vaccinate people.

BLOs (Block Level Officers) have been assigned to each list. A three-day camp was organised were BLO were trained. Accompanied by ASHA workers BLOs will visit every house will go house-to-house starting August 21. A report will be prepared. From August 25 to August 31 massive vaccination will be carried out.
