Assam government will launch a new scheme of financial assistance for Rs. 2 lakh each to two lakh youth in a bid to make them self reliant. The new scheme, Mukhyamantrir Atmanirbharshil Asom Abhiyan, will be launched in the state soon.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma held a video conference with the Chief Secretary and senior officials from the conference hall of Assam House on Wednesday, where the details of the scheme on the anvil were discussed.

The Chief Minister later disclosed to media persons that the new scheme would provide financial assistance of Rs. 2 lakh each to two lakh youth for making them self-independent. Sarma also said that the registration process for the new scheme would begin on September 23-24.


MP Pabitra Margherita, Additional Chief Secretary Home & Political Ravi Kota and Resident Commissioner M.S.Manivannan attended the meeting which lasted for almost 40 minutes.
